So crazy how fast the days are leading up to Christmas this year. In order to catch the moments at the right time and don’t let the holiday spirit slip away in 2020, the FurnitureCart team has a checklist ready for you and your kids, the activities before and during the winter holidays. You already know that keeping your kids busy while you work from home is a great skill, and now we are turning the right holiday mood on! Ready? Moreover, if you are up to create a new bedroom for kids, we are here with smart and flawless solutions for you.
☐ 1. Declutter and Organize
First, before doing any decorating or making new crafts, you have to make a fair deal with your child – all the stuff needs to be organized and stored right, and if you are up to decorate it entirely in Christmas style, you have to store the usual decorating stuff until after the season. We know, that unpacking new presents will make a new wave of a mess, but taking one step at a time in keeping things in order would be nice. Maybe your child is willing to donate some stuff to charity, pre-Christmas is just the right time for it.
☐ 2. Decorate Together
From festive bedding and decorative items to some handmade craft, nobody is as enthusiastic about holiday decorating as kids are. Get the children involved in the deck-the-halls process, from cutting out paper snowflakes and stars to creating their own Christmas decorations to hang atop your mantel in the living room or in the kids’ room. Help them develop their imagination and check together for the best Christmas decor ideas on the net.
☐ 3. Make a Festive Photoshooting
The kids nowadays love to go social via networks (sometimes way too much), and 2020 has proved that is one of the good alternative ways of keeping connected with friends (with a safe distance). Plan and make a Christmas solo-and-family photoshooting for your kid. Decide whether it would be a charming winter princess theme or rock-n-roll Santa, or snaps from baking some goodies together (see this idea next on our list). Furthermore, you will have precious memories for years to come, no matter whether made with the cam or phone.
☐ 4. Bake Christmas Treats
Mixing and measuring, decorating cookies, and of course, tasting the treat at the end – kids just adore it! To involve your children in festive baking rituals without causing chaos in the kitchen, share and delegate responsibilities according to your kids’ abilities and ages. Give youngsters the important task of frosting cookies and engage the teenagers into helping you with more complicated baking tasks.
☐ 5. Read a Good Book
Watching a good X-mas movie is nice, but reading a good book together is way nicer. If you regularly read together, change the way it is for the Christmas break. Get the favorite Christmas stories ready and waiting at one of the shelves of bookcase/bookcase bed for the special reading ceremony with cocoa and marshmallows, or grab a new fascinating winter tale and role-play it while reading. If reading together was not a part of your tradition, the holiday season is an awesome opportunity to start.
