A diverse variety of furniture brands and the furniture itself represented on FurnitureCart may cause an overwhelming effect. No worries, we know how to keep you feel abreast of events. Let us introduce you a newcomer to Furniture Cart, and the manufacturer of the gorgeous and functional furniture – Lane Furniture.
The company delivers outstanding home design – from the bedrooms designed by Lane to living room and occasional furniture, home bar sets, dining room furniture and the loveliest kids’ bedroom sets by Lane, that look like major bedrooms.
The history of the brand dates back to 1912, when John Lane purchased a box plant in Altavista, Virginia, and offered his 21-year old son Ed to try his hand at starting a chest factory in the newly acquired plant. From cedar chests, Lane expanded to occasional tables in 1951, casegoods in 1956, and accent pieces in 1965. At the first stage, the family has not given their family name, naming their little company as the Standard Red Cedar Chest Company.
But success was not long in coming. Still, the family had to work on it. Later on, in 1972 Lane bought a small reclining chair company in Tupelo, Mississippi, named Action Industries. Last sustained tremendous growth through gains in market share and product diversification through the next 20 years becoming a major force in the upholstered furniture industry.
It was only then that the whole company has been renamed in Lane Furniture. Today, Lane is owned by United Furniture Industries, one of the fastest-growing and largest manufacturers of upholstery and case goods in the U.S.
A short fact: From the time John Lane’s company began manufacturing cedar chests in 1912 through 1987, Lane sold an estimated 12 million cedar chests.
Lane’s passion is to develop furniture that gives consumers the ultimate place to escape, relax, and unwind. Extra words on the styles offered by Lane aren’t required. With the innovative designs Lane Furniture Brand offers to meet today’s consumer desires, the price is just as comfortable as the furniture.
